A high school kid used a fake college rejection letter to ask a girl to the prom.
Watch out for the squirting corsage.
High risk, high reward. A high school kid named Dylan decided to swing for the fences when he asked his girlfriend Caitlyn to the prom. Instead of going the traditional route, he decided to scare the crap out of her by crafting a flawless, forged rejection letter from the University of South Carolina informing her that since her grades had dropped, her admission to the school was in jeopardy ... Unless she accepted Dylan's invitation to the prom.
"We have recently received your final transcript from your school. Unfortunately it is clear that your grades are not what they were when we accepted you. Your perfomance during your senior year is starting to concern us."
He crafted the letter with a spot-on USC letterhead, which showed that even if his prank put an end to their relationship, he could have a bright future as a forger. It wound up working out well for everyone - she said yes, and the letter was retweeted over 6,000 times and picked up by the Today Show, making them both instant, if minor, celebrities.
The perfect ending to this would be Dylan showing up to Caitlyn's house on prom night in a limo and wearing his tux, and her parents informing him that she'd just left for Cancun with her girlfriends.
