New porn site Benevids lets you avoid chronic-masturbation guilt by giving money to charity to make people on webcams do...things

Be the change you want to give to someone to see them put a thumb somewhere.

Turning your insatiable desire to get off to strangers into an avenue to give back to strangers is not exactly a new idea

Turning your insatiable desire to get off to strangers into an avenue to give back to strangers is not exactly a new idea, but Benevidz has finally made charitable jackin' (or jillin') a two-way street: now you can put on a show in your living room encouraging strangers to masturbate to you for charity while your cat calmly uses the litter box in the background. Or, as is far more statistically likely, you can give money to have those charitable sex performers do things for you. What kind of things? Well, how charitable are you willing to be?

See, Benevidz is a webcam site. For those of you who are pretending not to know what that means, it's someplace where real people can make money stripping for other real people, who donate "tips" in either pure appreciation or as a request for a specific sex act or something like it (wiggle your toes, dress up like Dragon Ball Z, that sort of thing). Normally, the only public service a cam site provides is a place where you can see fairly normal people get naked, chat, and do things for your titillation with the knowledge that your money is going straight to the people providing a service. Which, considering how things are done on a lot of porn sites, is already kind of a public service.

Their slogan is "Lending A Helping Hand" and, appropriately enough, their tips are called "Handz." Here's where the charity comes in: when you give a performer a Hand, the performer still gets to keep that money, but Benevidz makes a matching donation of 50% to the charity of your choice. Give a guy $20 in Handz for using his hands, and Benevidz gives $10 to cancer research.

Here's what the front page looks like (SFW! Pretty sure you have to sign up to see anything but silhouettes, but there's a limit to what I can do in the office here):

Apparently no one is giving of themselves at 10AM. Keep in mind the site is new.

Ironically, the site itself is still seeking crowdfunding over at Rockethub, so if you want to give money to charity while giving yourself some love, why don't you give Benevidz some love so they can build a website for you to give money to charity while giving yourself some love? Sounds simple, right?
